How to Measure Ring Size Correctly?
Here are a few tips from me to find out the right ring size.
How to measure your ring size without any tools
Do you already have a ring that fits? Then simply measure the inner diameter with a ruler – from inner edge to inner edge. Multiply this value by 3.14, and you have your ring size. For example, an inner diameter of 17.5 mm corresponds to size 55.
No suitable ring at hand? A narrow strip of paper will also work: wrap it around your finger, mark where the ends meet, and measure the length with a ruler. This length in millimeters is directly your ring size.
Honestly: these methods are a good first indicator, but not 100% accurate. Paper stretches differently than metal, and a ruler never measures quite as precisely as a professional ring sizer. For most people, this is perfectly sufficient – but if you want to be absolutely sure, use a ring sizer or have yourself measured by a jeweler near you.
Temperature differences depending on
Time of day
Due to cold or heat, your fingers are either smaller or larger in circumference. Slight water retention that increases over the course of the day also causes slight swelling. That's why it's best to measure in the evening. Then the ring cannot be too small.
Differences in ring sizes
left and right hand
Your fingers are normally completely different on your left and right hands. Therefore, please measure exactly on the finger where you want to wear the ring.
